CloudNC, a UK-based manufacturing technology company, in partnership with Vayam Global, made its groundbreaking AI solution CAM Assist available to Indian manufacturers in early 2025. This move brought transformative benefits to the Indian machining sector by drastically reducing CNC programming time and enhancing workforce skills.
Vayam Global, a leading distributor of Mastercam in India, introduced CAM Assist to over 15,000 Mastercam users through direct sales and its national reseller network. The AI plug-in enabled machinists to generate complex machining strategies in seconds—tasks that previously required hours or days. This accelerated programming not only improved productivity and consistency but also allowed less-experienced programmers to operate at expert levels.
The partnership empowered Indian manufacturers to overcome one of their greatest challenges—upskilling the existing workforce—while enabling the production of intricate 3+2 axis components. As a result, shops could pursue higher-value contracts and reduce lead times with improved precision.
Jason Bowes, COO of CloudNC, highlighted India’s critical role in global manufacturing and emphasized the potential of CAM Assist to further increase efficiency and competitiveness. Vineet Seth, Managing Director at Mastercam India, added that CAM Assist was poised to reshape the CAD/CAM landscape in India by democratizing advanced machining strategies.
For the Indian machining industry, the adoption of CAM Assist meant faster programming, improved consistency, lower production costs, and an upskilled talent pool—an essential step toward smart manufacturing and global competitiveness in the era of Industry 4.0.
