SCHUNK Intec India has introduced the SAR-Nano Depaneling Machine, a compact and efficient solution designed to meet the rising demand for reliable PCB depaneling in India’s growing electronics manufacturing sector.

Used for segregating printed circuit boards and separating individual panels, the SAR-Nano brings together SCHUNK’s German engineering expertise and practical design. Built on a welded steel frame for maximum rigidity, the machine ensures stability, accuracy, and long service life — making it the perfect choice for manufacturers looking to adopt economical automatic depaneling technology without compromising quality.

“The SAR-Nano combines performance, precision, and cost-effectiveness in one compact package,” said Mr. Satish Sadasivan, Managing Director, SCHUNK Intec India. It’s designed to help manufacturers achieve consistent production results while keeping operations simple and scalable.”

Built for Accuracy and Flexibility

The SAR-Nano is equipped with a milling gantry system (XZ) powered by linear motor technology and a Jäger high-speed spindle (with one-year or 2000-hour warranty). The machine’s single-axis positioning accuracy of ±0.02 mm and linear movement speed up to 1000 mm/s ensure smooth and precise cutting for various board geometries — including straight, arc, U-shaped, and L-shaped contours.

An automatic tool changer with five stations, tool breakage control, and bit-level check enhance production efficiency, while an IPC controller with a Windows-based operating system and Beckhoff PLC control makes operation intuitive. Additional features like vision and vacuum systems, ionization bar, and interior lighting with warning lamps add to user convenience and process safety.

Designed for Real-World Manufacturing

The SAR-Nano supports PCB thicknesses between 0.5 mm and 3.2 mm and comes with dual shuttle tables (X = 350 mm, Y = 430 mm) for parallel loading and unloading — minimizing idle time and boosting throughput.

Its compatibility with SCHUNK’s MAGNOPLATE workpiece holder offers flexible fixture options for both medium to high-mix and small to medium batch production. The MAGNOPLATE’s aluminum base plate with inserted steel and magnetic centering pins allows quick setup changes, while automatic pin setting based on DXF multi-panel data streamlines handling for complex boards.

The SAR-Nano has been developed keeping in mind the diverse needs of the electronics manufacturing ecosystem. From automotive electronics and sensor and control system manufacturers to OEMs and leading EMS providers such as Jabil, Foxconn, and Zollner, the machine serves companies that demand precision, repeatability, and efficiency in depaneling operations.

German Technology, Local Expertise

With the introduction of SAR-Nano, SCHUNK strengthens its commitment to delivering German technology supported by local service and expertise. The system represents SCHUNK’s approach of combining innovation with reliability, helping Indian manufacturers enhance production quality while maintaining cost efficiency.

About SCHUNK Intec India Founded in 2001, SCHUNK Intec India is a subsidiary of SCHUNK SE & Co. KG, Germany – a global leader in clamping technology and gripping systems. With a strong footprint across India, SCHUNK serves key sectors such as automotive, aviation, energy, industrial electronics, and medical technology, offering precision-engineered solutions that drive manufacturing excellence.
