The ability to use standard-length tooling—even in deep or restricted spaces—significantly reduces tooling costs. At the same time, the toolholder’s secure hydraulic clamping and rigidity enable higher machining parameters, translating into faster cycle times and increased productivity. Unlike other hydraulic brands, ETP’s durable and unique designs allow the use of h7 shanks and shorter shanks (with reduced torque values as shown in ETP’s literature). This allows manufacturers to use their existing tooling while upgrading their performance. Flexible Options and Accessories
When paired with precision reducing sleeves, a variety of shank diameters can be used without significantly compromising accuracy. ETP offers “Coolant-Flush” reduction sleeves which have slots in the face to allow high-pressure coolant to go down the shank of the tool and helps blast chips out of the way in deep cavities (see below).
Precision Clamping for Repeatable Accuracy
All HYDRO-GRIP® PENCIL toolholders are engineered to precisely clamp tools with an h6 shank tolerance and maintain exceptional concentricity, achieving TIR of ≤ 0.004 mm at 2.5x the tool diameter.
For optimal performance and consistent clamping torque, the use of a 6 Nm preset torque wrench is recommended. This ensures secure tool retention and maximizes the holder’s performance.
