1) Chhattisgarh is taking significant steps towards sustainable transportation by introducing 240 e-buses across four key cities under the Prime Minister e-bus Sewa scheme. This initiative not only promotes eco-friendly transport but also boosts economic growth, offering opportunities for industry expansion, revenue generation, technological innovation, and infrastructure development. The allocation plan, based on population density, assigns 100 medium e-buses to Raipur, 50 to Bhilai-Durg, 50 (30 medium and 20 mini) to Bilaspur, and 40 (20 medium and 20 mini) to Korba
2) JBM Ecolife Mobility, a subsidiary of JBM Auto, has secured the contract to operate these e-buses, entailing procurement, supply, operation, and maintenance of 1,390 electric buses. This project is anticipated to have a significant positive impact on transportation, technology, economy, environment, and infrastructure. Additionally, JBM Ecolife Mobility will oversee the development of essential electric and civil infrastructure as part of the comprehensive Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) framework under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme.
