Pune, October, 2025 — Kennametal India Limited was pleased to join its partners GROB Machine Tools India Pvt. Ltd., Renishaw and OPEN MIND for a Technology Evening recently at Sayaii Hotel, Pune. The event brought together industry professionals, customers and technology leaders to explore innovations across aerospace, die & mold and mechanical engineering manufacturing.
The event included a series of company and product presentations, followed by a networking opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss challenges and explore potential collaborations.
Kennametal showcased its comprehensive range of precision cutting tools, including solid carbide drills such as the KenDrill™ Deep HPR, milling solutions like the Fix-Perfect 90°, HSS taps and the RHM™ Modular Reaming System—each proven to enhance efficiency, productivity and quality.
Kennametal partners presented various technologies:
- GROB presented its cutting-edge 5-axis universal machining centers—G150, G350, G550, and G750—designed to future-proof production and maximize efficiency. These machines offer near-limitless milling capabilities across a wide range of materials. A key highlight was the unique axis arrangement for overhead machining: three linear and two rotary axes form horizontal AB kinematics, enabling both 5-sided and simultaneous 5-axis machining.
- Renishaw showcased its industry-leading measurement and testing technologies, including its machine tool probes that integrate seamlessly with GROB machines to automate processes, reduce downtime and drive productivity on the shop floor.
- OPEN MIND Technologies showcased their most advanced CAD/CAM software, hyperMILL. This software includes many powerful features such as: MAXX Machining Finishing – Barrel Cutter, useful for reducing finishing time by up to 70% on the machine; High Precision Mode, for enhancing finishing quality on the machine; and State-of-the-Art Virtual Machine – Digital Twin, an NC-code-based simulation with full-proof post-processing that ensures machine safety.
