Recognized jointly with Airbus for outstanding contributions to Aerospace Manufacturing Ecosystems in India.
Aequs celebrated a significant achievement as it was awarded the title of Best Ecosystem Accelerator at Wings India 2024, a prominent event acclaimed as Asia’s largest civil aviation exhibition. This prestigious recognition, presented by India’s Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), was received by Aravind Melligeri, Chairman & CEO of Aequs, during a ceremony attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Hon’ble Union Minister for Civil Aviation & Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, and General VK Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, among others.
Of particular significance was Aequs’ shared victory in this category with its esteemed partner, Airbus, the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer. Aravind Melligeri expressed gratitude for the joint recognition, acknowledging Airbus’ benchmark-setting performance and quality standards. He viewed the award as a milestone in Aequs’ journey toward manufacturing excellence and the development of Ecosystems of Efficiency®.
Melligeri attributed the success to the collaborative spirit within the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster (BAC), where Aequs operates. He extended appreciation to customers, partners, suppliers, and all members of the ecosystem for their contributions. Emphasizing the culture of partnership and continuous improvement at BAC, Melligeri highlighted the commitment of Aequs employees to delivering the highest standards of quality and customer service.
Notably, Airbus had previously honored Aequs with the Airbus Innovation Award in 2016, recognizing its innovative approach to aerospace manufacturing.
Established in 2009, the BAC stands as India’s premier Notified Precision Engineering SEZ, housing over thirty manufacturing units. Spanning across 250+ acres, it offers a vertically integrated manufacturing value chain within a single campus. This unique ecosystem enables seamless collaboration among various stakeholders, allowing Aequs to provide its global aerospace OEM customers, including Airbus, Boeing, Collins, and Safran, with unparalleled benefits. Additionally, the concentration of manufacturing processes within the same campus contributes to reduced carbon footprint for aerospace components produced at BAC.
