ModuleWorks announced the upcoming market launch of its GPU Simulation, with Sandvik’s Cimatron and Mastercam set to be the first commercial CAM solutions to integrate the technology. The rollout is scheduled for the next releases of both software platforms.

GPU Simulation leverages GPU-accelerated processing to significantly enhance simulation speed, delivering performance improvements of up to ten times compared to traditional CPU-based approaches. It is particularly beneficial for large and complex 3- and 5-axis parts, enabling rapid verification, shortened programming cycles, and higher job throughput.

Dr. Yavuz Murtezaoglu, Founder and Managing Director, ModuleWorks, said:
“Our collaboration with Sandvik and their Cimatron and Mastercam brands accelerates the adoption of GPU Simulation, bringing tangible performance gains to CAM users in production environments.”

Magnus Malmström, CTO, Intelligent Manufacturing, Sandvik, added:
“GPU-accelerated simulation reduces toolpath verification from minutes to seconds, allowing manufacturers to operate faster, safer, and more efficiently.”

Ivan Krstic, VP of Product, Mastercam, highlighted the impact on users:
“GPU Simulation provides immediate speed and workflow advantages, reinforcing Mastercam’s position as a versatile CAD/CAM solution across aerospace, automotive, and general machining.”

Simone Bonino, Global Product Director, Cimatron, stated:
“Early access to GPU Simulation empowers moldmakers, die designers, and advanced manufacturers to handle complex 3- and 5-axis jobs with unmatched speed and precision.”

GPU Simulation will feature at EMO 2025, Hanover (22–26 September), with live demonstrations and interviews with Sandvik, Cimatron, and Mastercam representatives.

Benchmark tests at ModuleWorks’ Aachen facility used an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, confirming substantial performance improvements.
