The HAIMER Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of shrink fit and balancing technology, tool holders, presetting machines, and integrated tool management solutions, has officially completed a major milestone in its corporate journey by transferring ownership to the second generation of the founding family. Effective August 1, 2026, siblings Andreas Haimer and Kathrin Haimer have assumed responsibility as Managing Directors and Shareholders, ensuring the company remains a 100% German family-owned enterprise with a strong long-term vision.
The transition marks the culmination of a carefully planned succession process initiated by founders Claudia and Franz Haimer, who established the company in 1977 and transformed it into a globally recognized “Hidden Champion” in precision manufacturing technology. While ownership has now passed to the next generation, the founders will remain actively involved in the management team until the end of 2027 to ensure a smooth handover. Thereafter, they will continue supporting the company through a newly established Advisory Board, contributing their decades of experience and industry expertise.
The leadership transition reflects HAIMER’s continued commitment to innovation, sustainability, and technological excellence. Under the new management, the company will further strengthen its “Tool Room of the Future” concept, a comprehensive solution that integrates digitization, automation, and intelligent tool management to improve manufacturing productivity. These solutions are designed to help manufacturers worldwide address increasing cost pressures, skilled labour shortages, and the growing demand for smart factory technologies.
Kathrin Haimer emphasized that the company’s future will continue to be built on the values established by its founders while embracing advanced technologies. She highlighted HAIMER’s responsibility toward employees, apprentices, local communities, and customers, reaffirming the company’s commitment to remaining a reliable technology partner and an attractive employer.
Andreas Haimer noted that HAIMER’s own manufacturing experience—with more than 200 machine tools and an annual metal-cutting volume of approximately 5,000 tonnes—provides valuable insight into the industry’s evolving needs. He stated that the company will continue investing in AI-enabled shrink fit, balancing and presetting systems, networked tool room solutions, and automation technologies while expanding collaborations with machine tool builders across global markets.
Reflecting on nearly five decades of growth, founder Franz Haimer credited the company’s global workforce for its success and expressed confidence in the next generation’s ability to lead HAIMER into the future. He also highlighted the growing demand for integrated tool room solutions across semiconductor, aerospace, space, defence, and energy industries, where digitalized and automated tool management is becoming increasingly critical for achieving highly efficient, data-driven manufacturing operations.
Today, HAIMER employs approximately 800 people worldwide, with around 500 working at its headquarters in Igenhausen, Germany. The company continues to invest 8–10% of its annual revenue in research and development, reinforcing its long-standing philosophy that “Quality Wins.”
