Marposs, the Bologna-based global leader in precision measurement and quality control solutions, inaugurated its new 400-square-meter Tech Center in Bengaluru on March 6, 2025. This strategic move aimed to strengthen its footprint in India, especially in the fast-evolving sectors of semiconductors, consumer electronics, aerospace, and electric vehicle batteries.
Having been active in India since 1981, Marposs has steadily transitioned from a commercial presence to establishing six local offices, with the newest being this tech hub in Bengaluru. The inauguration drew participation from top Indian and Italian dignitaries, including Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje and officials from the Italian Embassy and Consulate.
The new center was set up to provide localized, tailor-made technological solutions, backed by R&D focused on semiconductor testing, battery leak testing, and quality control for aerospace components. As the second such facility globally after California, it marked a significant step in Marposs’ commitment to India’s industrial advancement.
With a projected turnover of €20 million in 2024 and 120 employees in India, Marposs has already played a vital role in automotive, mechanical component, and machine tool sectors. The company’s expansion offers substantial benefits to the Indian machining industry, including access to advanced metrology, enhanced manufacturing precision, and localized support services.
For Indian manufacturers—especially in machining and high-tech sectors—this center promised not only world-class solutions but also opportunities for collaboration, training, and innovation aligned with global quality standards and sustainability goals.
